Diploma: “A document given by an educational institution conferring a degree on a person or certifying that the person has satisfactorily completed a course of study.” Dictionary.
In the Australian Qualifications Framwork you have two kinds of Diploma, one as a part of undergraduate and one as a part of postgraduate studies. The two above degrees are a part of undergraduate studies.
A Diploma or Associate Diploma can be granted from a university for partial completion bachelor’s degree course, as is my Diploma of Arts. Or through a private college or Technical College (TAFE), as is my Diploma of Journalism which I used to obtain entry into university, and then for credits towards completion of a Bachelor’s Degree.
